Q:What's the best way to spray cabinet doors? I have about 50 flat panel cherry doors. I will be spraying conversion varnish. My original thought was to lay four down on a piece of 4x8 cardboard and spray one side at a time, hitting the sides of the door at the same time and then lifting the whole sheet onto our drying rack.
A:
I like to do them one at a time, perched upon a shop-made lazy susan stand (setting on a pair of sawhorses). Shoot the edges and one side and move it to the drying...

Q: Does anyone have any experience buying kitchen cabinets online? We are looking for a low cost cabinet company but it seem like there are so many around there. Home Depot quoted us about $3k and some other places have been in the range of $2800-$4000. Any ideas?
A: Some posters report IKEA cabinets at a low cost point. I believe you have to assemble them. Depending on size of kitchen and number of cabinets, costs vary. They also vary among manufacturers and retailers. You also have to...

Q:Going to install kitchen cabinets this weekend. I have wide pine floors which run under the cabinets. The cabinets have flat fronts (no recessed toe kick) so they will simply rest on top of the floor. The kitchen cabinets are L-shaped. In one direction, the floor is perfectly level, while in the other direction it's about 1/4 inch out of level over a 10 foot run. Will installing the kitchen cabinets as is (slightly out of level) cause any issues. Appliances are not an issue as I have a...

Q: I just purchased a home and there is a range hood above the stove. This is a range hood that typically gets installed under a cabinet. My problem is, the previous owners attached it to the back wall, but since there is no cabinet, they used ugly, thick metal welded chains to reinforces it and the chains hang from the ceiling!!! It is very bad and needs to be taken care of immediately. The issue is, we don't want to buy new cabinets just yet, so how can we reinforce this range hood and get...
