Experience with Haas cabinets
Haas Cabinets are made in Indiana and a local company says they are now selling these in place of Kraftmaid. The only seeming negative so far is that they are not all plywood construction.

My experience with Haas cabinets isn't going to give you a totally "fair" rating but...The newly constructed beach house we bought last year has a kitchen with Haas cabinets. Now, keep in mind that I don't like the way the kitchen was designed (it's totally dysfucntional) and I don't like framed cabinets. Still, I have to say that I think the quality of Kraftmaid better. I have a maple beadboard style. The finish is unimpressive but what really bothers me is that the drawer glides are the cheapest available. I'm sure the contractor put in the least expensive options he had available so I don't know if they have anything better to offer. I also have no idea what they cost, so they could be great value for the money.

we are in the midst of replacing Haas cabinets. The Haas were installed new when we built the house 16 years ago . On the pro side, the finish has held up well and the cabinets still look good on the outside. on the con side - the drawer glides are terrible. Can't tell you how many times I had to fix them. Part of the issue is the particleboard construction of the sides which don't seem to hold the screws well if stressed with weight. Part of the issue is the gudies seem very cheap. And the drawers are also pretty cheap inside - 3/8 or 1/4 inch sides - nothing like I see today.

Now of course we only spend $3800 on them 16 years ago and will be spending 7 times as much now to replace them. And to be fair, Haas cabinets may have made improvements over the years but thats our experience.

I will also chime in that I have Haas cabinets in my 1984 kitchen. The doors are solid oak and have held up well, finish is terrific. What I hate about them is that they are framed... very framed. Meaning, on a double upper cabinet, I have a huge strip of wood in the middle. The drawers are tiny and the drawers have huge frames too. Also, the shelves on my cabinets are not as thick as they should be and have bowed with the weight of the dishes. I haven't had any issues with the glides and my cabinets have no particle board. I don't think any of this helps because they are 24 years old and so much has changed in manufacturing since then!!!

Between loosing so much space to the frames and the fact that the previous owners choose to put in many small cabinets instead of fewer large ones, I have trouble fitting basic things in some of my cabinets. So my advice is to look carefully at the interior size and frames of cabinets no matter which manufacturer you go with.
